Dogs may be man’s best friend, but to be honest, they’ve never been mine. Not that I don’t adore puppy kisses or throwing a ball to an eager retriever, but dogs are a lot of work! I’ve always been a cat person because they’re self-sufficient and don’t require constant attention.
That said, when I was approached about knitting a custom dog sweater, I couldn’t wait to get started! Ellee is a teacup Chihuahua and it’s hard to believe so much energy and personality could be contained in that teeny tiny three pound body.
I took her measurements and crafted my own pattern, something I don’t do very often. When she came over for the fitting, I held my breath, nervous that it wouldn’t fit. Fortunately I was in luck and she soon was frolicking around the house, showing off and posing the house down for photos!
