The sweet simplicity of this cowl does not reflect the difficulty of the pattern: it uses cable knitting, brioche, and bobbles – you knitters will understand the time involved! I love the way it turned out: it can be worn in spring or winter as needed, as a layer or statement piece, and with many different colors.



I chose the name Queensland for this cowl at first because of the deep royal blue color, but I realized upon further reflection that the unintentionally Australian moniker channeled the diverse flora of the region. Wearing handmade clothing that reflects the nature of one’s surroundings is deeply satisfying and confirms the human connection we have with the land.
