Shimmering Summer Baby Blanket

What does a knitter do in the summer? It’s hardly the time for scarves, hats, and gloves. Fortunately for all us knitting addicts, people have babies year-round. And as I perused the shelves at Hobby Lobby, this yarn called out to me with its shiny threads and jovial colors.

I knew if it could brighten my day just by sitting on a shelf, it could make even more happiness as a big, cozy blanket! But blankets are for the winter, right?

Not all of them! I designed this blanket with a loose gauge and fun lacy pattern to ensure it remained lightweight even while being made of sturdy cotton. I love creating clothes and accessories for babies as a way to celebrate an amazing, exciting time – and if I can help add to the happiness of new parents in any way, I consider myself successful.
